Operational Changes to Cherry Medical Practice due to COVID-19

Dear Patients, please note the following information in light of the coronavirus pandemic. We would be very grateful for your co-operation at this time.

1. Do not attend the surgery in person

In line with government guidance we are currently telephone triaging all appointments. If you ring for an appointment, a GP or Nurse will call you back. Where possible, we are trying to limit patients attending the surgery to prevent you from contracting or spreading coronavirus.

2. No early prescription issues

We are unable to issue repeat prescription earlier than they are due. This is to prevent patients from stockpiling medications and leaving others without a supply. Your repeat prescription will be issued as normal when it is due.

3. Ordering Repeat Prescriptions

To avoid unnecessary trips out of the house we are allowing repeat prescriptions to be ordered by phone. You can either ring the surgery or your usual pharmacy. To prevent blocking of phone lines please continue to use online services and the MyGP app when possible.

4. Extended Hours Surgeries

Extended Hours have now been reinstated but are currently telephone appointments only. This is in line with other local GP practices and NHS guidance. This is being reviewed every four weeks.
